The principals of Cutting Edge Instruments, Inc. (CEI) have over 60
years combined experience in the manufacturing of small precision rotary
cutting tools for dental, medical, electronic and industrial applications.
HISTORY: We formerly manufactured the following brands:
"Blu-White" Diamonds (formerly Teledyne/Blu-White)
"Blu-White" Carbides (formerly Teledyne/Densco carbides)
Vermont Diamond Instruments including brands:
"Micro Mill" Diamonds
"Patriots" single use diamonds (one of the industry's first!)
"Smart Burs" innovative solid carbide, one piece burs
TODAY: CEI manufactures in central Vermont in the
most advanced dental bur manufacturing plant in the world.
We designed our own state of the art, compact, 5 axis CNC grinding machines
for producing superior quality products.
This equipment allows us to:
• Create a more
concentric carbide bur, which equals smoother cutting and superior life
for both the cutting instrument and the hand piece.
• Computer generated shapes are more accurate and consistent bur
to bur and batch to batch.
• Sharper edges produce faster and more accurate cuts with "feather
touch".
• Trimming and Finishing burs create a superior edge finish due
to consistent flute heights and being overall, very concentric.
We have been ISO 9002 certified and soon will be ISO 13485:2003 certified.
